The South Peace agriculture industry provides a strong opportunity for business investment, economic growth, rural development and careers.  The South Peace has several opportunities for low land process and low cost production.  Almost 90% of British Columbia's grain and 95% of Canola are produced in the Peace.

The Peace is home to some of the largest bison herds in the province.  Highlights for the area are low-temperature growing season with long hours of daylight.  Agriculture is a significant and expanding industry in British Columbia more than 280,000 people employed on farms, ranches, greenhouses, veterinary offices, hatcheries, grooming and other agricultural related services.  The primary industry currently generates 1.74 billion towards the provinces total GDP.

There is indeed place for growth and opportunity in the South Peace Region.  Population is estimated to be 60,873 for the South Peace area, with 868,599ha being farmed.

The livestock sector, which includes cattle, hogs, poultry, eggs, dairy, honey, fur and game-farm animals.  Beef cattle are concentrated in the North primarily.
